Loxton Aero Club 6th Biennial Fly-In
Friday 7th & Saturday 8th April 2017

...another fantastic Fly In!

The Loxton Aero Club welcomed in excess of 60 planes over a 3 day event with Registrants flying as far as Bankstown, Deniliquin and from all areas of Victoria and SA.

76 Registrants and Club Members enjoyed a Welcome Dinner at the Loxton Hotel on Friday, 7th April. Each guest introduced themselves throughout the evening and many old friendships rekindled with many new friendships formed. A great way to kick start the weekend!

A hearty breakfast at the Airfield on Saturday morning allowed people to relax in and welcome all those who flew in throughout the day.

The Saturday afternoon Presentations were, once again, a resounding success with Howard Hendrick (Loxton’s 93 year old WW2 Lancaster bomber pilot who still flies PIC) speaking on ‘Anxious Moments’ as an Airforce and Commercial Pilot during the 40’s and 50’s.

Shelley Ross & Catherine Fitzsimon’s talk covered -
  • Life in the Ultimate Classroom!
  • Why cross-Country flying never fails to improve skills
  • The Ross/Fitzsimons tailor-made approach to Flying Instructing.

The final Presentation was Bas Scheffers (OzRunways) who conducted a very popular Question & Answer Session.

The piece de resistance of the Fly Ins has always been the Saturday Night Hangar Dinner and this year was no exception. 200 people enjoyed a 3 course meal in the Club’s hangar. Kathy Mexted (Editor Airsport Mag) was Guest Speaker.

The 6th Biennial Charities Raffle raised $3,200 which was presented to RFDS & Angel Flight.
